How many towels should an Airbnb have?

A simple starting rule

  • Provide at least one bath towel per guest, plus a small reserve
  • Keep hand towels and washcloths separate from bath towel counts
  • For pool or beach properties, track pool towels separately
  • For high-turnover homes, keep enough towels for the next stay before laundry returns

Example towel minimums

  • Studio for 2 guests: 6-8 bath towels, 4 hand towels, 4 washcloths
  • Two-bedroom for 4 guests: 10-12 bath towels, 6 hand towels, 6 washcloths
  • Family home for 8 guests: 18-24 bath towels plus dedicated pool or beach towels
  • Luxury listings may need more backups because replacements must match quality expectations
